About Us
Salem Lutheran School is situated in the eastern part of Orange County in the City of Orange. Nestled in the foothills of the Santiago Hills, Salem Lutheran School is part of a unique community that preserves a rural atmosphere while only being three miles from three major freeways. 
Salem Lutheran School is part of the largest Protestant Christian school system in the nation; a proven program of education for over 200 years currently serving 250,000 students nationwide in over 4000 Preschool, Elementary, High School and University programs. Founded in 1973 as a small preschool, Salem Lutheran School has grown to over100 students in Preschool and 400 students in grades Kindergarten through Grade Eight.
Salem Lutheran School, as an extension of Salem Lutheran Church, a member of the Pacific Southwest District of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod, seeks to be a community driven by the Great Commission of Matthew 28:19, "Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit" and to provide a Christian education so that in accordance with Proverbs 22:6, "Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it", children can grow in Christian character; spiritually, intellectually, physically, socially, emotionally and in discipleship for the Lord. Salem Lutheran School views each child as a special gift from God, endowed distinctive in nature and ability, dearly loved and redeemed by God through Jesus Christ. A rich and diverse educational experience at Salem will passionately pursue excellence, cultivating a learning environment that enables each child to fully develop his/her unique God-given gifts and abilities. The school believes that through this teaching, in a safe and caring environment, each child will show Christian love through a positive and loving attitude towards others, both in the classroom and in activities away from school.
At Salem Lutheran School the faculty and staff focus incessantly on each
child's individuality and growth in their God-given abilities. This
desire to provide excellence in every educational aspect has earned the
school the distinction of being an EXEMPLARY SCHOOL by the
NLSA accrediting commission for the 2010-2011 school year!!! Of greatest note from the commission was Salem's integrated technology program, excellence in academics in content and test scores, service to community, and praise from the High School's into which Salem students matriculate.
